| The Heart Will Die As Well |
Last night she dreamed
so vividly of home,
she felt that she might
never wish to wake again.
tangled in such colorful
emotion, though reason
failed her still.
She watched so silently-
through darkness not yet stained
by early morning light.
and though it seemed the silence
of the woods might stifle everything -
she heard the tones, and yet again
the song came from within...
It was no sound for human ears-
her vision was not granted tangibility...
no words gave meaning to that song -
no form envisioned clearly in that light...
until at once, she understood
that truth, too often feeds on fantasy
when from behind the withered age old tree-
a single unicorn at last took flight. |
