| The Heart Will Die As Well |
The falling snow fares better than the rain
to cleanse this palate of emotion
that was lately plaguing me.
The angry reds, and crimsons
mixed of pain and rage,
and all the blues of my confusion
have since given way
to paler and pleasanter shades of grey-
And now this lightness is infused with
all the comforts of belonging in a place.
I have found that I am not so lost at all.
At last I understand-
what should never have been spoken…
what should never have been known…
And though this knowledge presses me ahead-
Indecision is no longer my companion on this road.
I have learned to trust
With eyes that see the finest detail,
And ears that hear the difference between
forgery and truth,
and a soul that now believes it is at home.
And I finally see what lies behind
this image once so vague…
All the poorly outlined characters,
And the badly shaded backdrops
Are those things which serve
To make this scene complete.
