Pieces of machinery
connect me
to a world I'd forget
if only
I were elsewhere.

and pieces of you
keep falling down,
slipping
through the cracks...
reminding me
that there is so much
left unfinished today.

I am not this powerful delivery,
and I am not these angry words,
I am not your soapbox anymore...

and I refuse to become
your enmity
Though I hate you now
as much as you hate me...

Why are you pretending
to hide an answer behind
your rants and shouts
of conspiracy,
when the only one who
really knows the truth
would never speak.
