In The Rain

I watch castles crumble and sink beneath
the packed dirt of battlefields whose
lines only change when yet another side
joins this casual conflict.

I am at ease with these emotions...

I bleed blackened rays of sun
and cry bitter tears of blood- folding
another set of wings stripped to bone.

I perch in dark corners
and scream in lament for all the facts
that go unnoticed when reality steps in
and deception becomes status quo...

I am happy that we never chose sides,
I am happy that we never obligated
ourselves to become a part of this
world dying... this world falling into chaos

I have taken my belongings and started
the journey home by foot-
only saviors and sinners know now
how I became part of this
in the first place...
