27 Reasons to Quit Smiling

No sense in tugging broken rope
and falling when momentum
catches on...
everything beautiful fails.

No sense in attempting
to be special, to be individual
this society functions
merely on conformity.

No real people left-
no-one willing
to let their ugly side show-
to take the best of everything-
no-one willing
to prove that they still
carry a beating heart.

This crumbling facade will fall,
and the sky- and with it-
a thousand screaming children
dying from the weight of the world

is this the future?
or are we still learning from our past?
